Nice shot of the sunset. Would maybe crop a bit and make use of the rule of thirds. Everything else excellent.

its hard to tell as your pic is so small but from what i see it looks great with the exceptions of what the others have suggested

Awesome colors !! which is this place?
Can this be a candidate for a HDR picture?

Thanks for all the replies and inputs about the foreground and the cropping for rule of thirds, I'll take a look at it after finals are over when I have more time..college is a nasty b****

I don't use any filters, I want to get a polarizing filter sometime soon though and mess around with that.

This is a lake in like midwest Wyoming, a few hours drive from where I live and then about a day's hike. I have a lot more mountain lake/stream and backpacking trip pictures if you're interested. I'm going to start uploading to Flickr sometime soon I think. And also, I'm new around here and have no idea what HDR is

Thanks for the input again everyone.

The exposure, contrast and color seem ok to me!
Nice shot.

A Nikon D70s, a few lenses, add flashguns to your taste. Stir well. Serve warm.

HDR= high dynamic range. Take an over exposed pic, and under exposed pic, and a normal pic, then combine them all in Photoshop or something, and you get a picture that has all elements correctly exposed. No time to link to anything, but I'm sure there is a thread here on DPS about it.

My suggestion would be to crop out the log at the bottom right, and I really like the colors.

yeah i've seen some tutorials and stuff to do that, results look pretty cool, but i've never tried it.

thanks for the suggestion with the log in the bottom right corner!
