No it was already pretty sharp. Just helped separate Grey and White areas just a bit.

Default Love That Cat !!!

Love the way you captured the kitty's eyes wide open with the glints!
This image grabbed my attention because of the sharpness of the details.
As a cat lover myself, however, something was 'wrong' with this photo
for me. A cats eyes are the unique feature of these critters, and those
beautiful golden-brown eyes in your image were terrific. The next most
unique feature of a cat is its fine soft fur. The sharp detail of the cat's
fur and whiskers in your image was strikingly eye-catching, but that very
sharpness also made the fur look quite coarse like that of a dog's fur.

I snatched your image and sucked it into PaintShop Pro and made one
small change to the image that maintained the riveting stare of those eyes,
and yet gave a softer, and IMHO, a more natural appearance to that fur.

First, I selected the cat's eyes by selecting just outside of the thin black
outline of its eyelids. Then I inverted the selection to avoid any change to
the sharpness of those magnificent eyes. Then I simply applied PSP's
SOFTEN filter one time to the rest of the cat's face, to give it's fur a more
catlike softness.

Open my image next to your original in PhotoShop and see how this small
tweak to the image completely changes the impression of the fur's texture,
while maintaining the sharp icy stare of the eyes. Don't get me wrong, I
love your original image for its crisp detail, but I think my modification helps
to capture a more realistic touch to this animal's distinctive fur. What do
you think?
