Hi All..

This is a shot i took during the brightest part of day and the sun was really harsh and hence i feel the whites got overexposed...how can that be avoided..i did try to keep the focal points on white to keep that as the
brightest part of pic.

Please give suggestsions and suggest improvements...Thanks

Bird

Looks like a candidate for a nice B&W conversion. If you don't mind, I would like to try that later in the day when I'm at home.

Nice photo, a bit blownout on the chest, but really nice. If you camera have a manual mode, you can try using the highest aperture of your lens (lowest f#), and work with the shutter speed to avoid highligths. Agree with AERNAJOJO about the BW. Nice work.

I didn't see the exif data but the suggestions are correct. I think you have two options here. Work in Manual Mode and open up lens to get the blurred background and then change the shutter until it looks correct. Alternatively, work in Shutter priority and drop the exposure compensation down a few notches.

I may be wrong and there may be other opinions here so please feel free to give more input.

You've got a white blob amongst a bunch of darkness. Hopefully your subject is patient and you can set metering mode to spot, then center the image on the white to set metering.
