I like the overall composition but think the angel, as the main subject, is a bit dark round the face (given the stronger lighting on its hair and side). Something reflective, like a mirror, positioned out of shot on the right might throw enough light back from the window to brighten it without overdoing things.

I like the shot, but agree with Wulf about using reflected light to improve the overall appearance. I'm pretty financially imbarrassed at the time (being between jobs), so I used a $1.00 umbrella purchased from a yard sale, and a $0.97 can of flat white spraypaint to make my reflector. I've only used it a couple of times, but it has really helped. BTW, your DOF is spot on.

Thanks for the advice.
I dont really have a lot of money either atm (just bought the camera, a crumpler bag and the made camera armor for it^^ ) so I'll probably try the umbrella reflector too

I actually like the lighting you have, more dramatic, but a piece of Foam core from the office store or even poster board work well also.

A little off topic, but I'd like to say that you made a great choice of bag. I jsut bought a crumpler (the Customary Barge) and it is the best bag that I've ever owned. It's good for both my camera and laptop.

mfmarsphoto,
Thanks for the link. I'm always on the look out for inexpensive gear. If you build it yourself, you'll know how it works and what to expect.
