Default Bunker

IMG_1398 Inside War Hut SCT copy

I took last week when I was briefly visiting Edinburgh. It's the inside of some kind of bunker left over from WW2.

I think this is a great image, there is a certian creepyness about it. Really reminds me of urban photography. I really like abanonded places I feel they all have a story to tel land this image tells me this place has a story as well good job. The only room for improvement would be to use a tripod lower the iso some and stop the lens down maybe 1 or two stops.

Great shot welcome to the forums.

Brilliant photo Jon and welcome to the forums. I love the lighting in it and the splashes of color from the graffiti. I really cant add anything except experiment with lightening up the right side a bit or a cross processing technique...but that would be purely experimental.
Great catch!

The only complaint I have is the bright light coming from the windows. It really draws my eye away from the rest of the room. I think this bunker would have been a perfect candidate for exposure bracketing (assuming you had a tripod with you). That way you could have masked in the back end of the room to make it brighter, thus taking away much of the intensity of the windows.
Otherwise it's a great shot. 10-22mm? I love that lens.

This would be a great location to use a model in. I can see a young, blonde girl in a whispy white or baby blue dress, flowers in her hair, barefoot or wearing thin sandals dancing around here. Or, to go with the theme of the bunker, a punk rock chick or even 'emo' girl would suit. You're very lucky to have such a wonderful location nearby!

I guess I'll add my first post to this thread as well. I was at the same location (Cramond Island) in Scotland last week with Jon and this was one of my favorites of the storage ruins.

I prefer Jon's and wish I had had a wider lens with me on the trip.
