I like the conversion to black and white do you have any more photos from this location? The reason why I ask is I think it would be cool if you had the entire window in the frame instead of chopping off the top but, I'm not sure pehraps that window has not top it does look run down.

I really like this type of photo. I do think however that it might benefit from the loss of the white building on the left and the telephone poles. Otherwise its a great use of the concrete for a frame

Congrats on the Great camera choice.....I also have a d40. Much better than a camera phone thats for sure..lol! I think the shot is nice all in all but could benefit from a bit of post work on the background....a selection of the sky and a bit of darkening, just a smudge to separate it from the buildings a bit and maybe adjust the far left white buildings color a bit also. I'm sure you're gonna love the D40 as much as I do....I thought i might regret not getting the D80 or 200 but not a bit so far....
