Default singapore night shot

I took this during the my company holiday party. It was on a poolside at the hotel in Singapore.
I like the colors on this. Anything I could have done to improve it? Maybe some post processing?

I'd say you pretty much nailed the exposure. It's nice that you captured the person swimming as well to add some interest and somewhat of a subject.
The only thing that's bugging me if the leaves in the top left corner.
As for Post-processing, I think I'd just leave it as is. It's got nice color already as you said, so I don't see what much else you could try to get from this.

ditto on the exposure.....it's beautifully done......the only improvement would have been to shoot without the foreground leaves......i swear it's this close to a postcard......

peeper

oops....wait!....it's a wee bit tilted.....look at the center building.....a quick crop with rotation should take care of that...

Yep, I agree, the exposure is gorgeous, but that building in the back is tilted

hehehe....i don't have a tripod so i just propped my camera on a stone, which is a wee bit jagged

Edit: I have another shot from a bit later in the hour where it is darker. I wonder if I should post it in the same topic...

Yep, sure, post it here. It will make it easier to compare the 2 if that's what you're looking for

Nice work. I agree with the comments made by the others. I think you hit the time of day for this shot on the button. Much later and the sky would possibly be too dark. Please post your later shot in this thread so we can see it for comparison.

There more leaves on this one and a bit of a different angle....but I still got most of the pool and the hotel itself.

Personally I like the first one better. The time that you captured it was just the perfect time for such brilliant colours. This one is interesting, but it doesn't capture my eye in the same way. It may be because of the large amount of orange lights. Maybe if you played with the white balance a little it might make the colours pop out more

yep, I like the 1st one better too. The 2nd one is just for comparison....
White balance is tricky...if I set manually by shooting a "neutral" color (most of the time I shoot a white wall or a white tablecloth) then the color won't come out as nice as I would like.
If I use the preset, I risk a redder or bluer shade everytime I shoot
