Default How am I gonig to make this?

My girlfriend's niece shooting pool at her parents house over Thanksgiving.

I cropped out the overexposed part of the table in the foreground and got rid of the red eye.

Main thing I see is to straighten it. And maybe have some sort of indication as to where the ball needs to go.

Straightening would be a good idea. Try cropping out some of the distracting wall items, such as the Coke sign. If you were to take this type of shot again, there are a few things you could do to make it more interesting. Try a different angle to cut out the distracting background. Get low, have the shooter get low and get more focus on the ball.

I think you got a great expreshion there too bad the lighting was not the best but I love these candid shots . I hope you don't mind I played with it , I straightened it & croped some of the back ground . the only thing is the flare on the poster so I used photo tool kit ,it has some cool lighting effects that are easy ,so I added flood light effect to lessen the flare ,hope you like it .

This is what I did with it. If I had more time I'm sure I would have done better. Anyway, this is an idea for you.

Here's what I did. Her hair was really bothering me, it took away from her pretty face. I didn't attempt the glare though.

I don't think the angle shows enough about the way the balls are arranged on the table to tell the story. Is there another ball she has to pot before she can put the black away? Getting a bit higher would map it out more clearly.

Wulf

ps. also agree that less hair over her face would be good.

I don't think the items on the wall are a real distraction. It's the sort of things that you'd expect to see in a pool hall - so it actually supports the subject. Even the hair on the face is very natural. So my recommendation is no cropping except to straighten the image.

To draw the eye to the player and the object of her concentration (balls on the table), darken and blur the surrounding background with respect to these two main elements, applied as a gradient going from top to bottom. Sharpen the balls (it appears to be a bit blurry) such that the player and the balls have the same level of sharpness.
