looks to be a nice shot but the levels are way out....there alot of each end and no middle ground here. Can you tell us a little of what you did in the conversion to get it here....
then we will better be able to suggest how to better the photo.
Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy! Alot to learn here and alot of great people willing to help out along the way.

to be honest i really don't remember what all i did to get it like that. this sounds stupid but i wasn't sure how switch it to a b&w photo, or if my program can do it at all, so in general i think i made my darks darker, increased contrast, and then unsaturated the color about as far as it went.

i kind of like the silhouette (sp?) look, but i agree with you there needs to be some neutral middle ground to the picture.

thanks.

I think the effect is a good idea but taken a little to the extreme. You can notice in the upper left corner how the pixels in the clouds are really big. I think just converting this to a grayscale and adjusting the contrast would look really nice. Great work though. Experimentation is good.

other than un-adjusting I think you should crop it on the right.

looks like you had fun during your discovery process....you image comes off like a silk screen print.....it needs a crop and rotation to level the horizon.....

have fun!
