Default Tree in the Moonlight.

What does everyone think of this shot: A tree in the Full Moonlight? I think it is an intriguing tree.

How the color? Do you think it needs to be cropped so the old truck in the lower left is gone?

Thanks for your comments.

Both pictures looks great!!
The first one, the lighter one, it's noisy, to much ISO, but the darker it's amazing!!

As Darius says, both are great.

I would look to crop both sides in to loose the truck in the lower left and the building in the lower right and maybe even the fence at the bottom.

Cheers

Tim

The second shot is better. Cropping out the truck and the house on the right hand side is a good idea. I would suggest that you leave the bottom the way it is but try cloning out the white wall above the fence.

I think it is ok not to crop. The truck in particular provides a sense of scale - how large the tree really is. Overall, the items (elements) below add a certain character to the tree - it tells a different story versus an image where you only get to see the tree.

The problem then is that the level of brightness of the tree, is about the same with some of the elements under the tree. That is, the elements under the tree distract from the main element - the tree.

So one solution/strategy is to introduce some imbalance or uneveness in the levels of brightness within the image. The primary element (the tree) should be brightest of all, then the secondary elements (truck, house , shack, etc) should be a little less bright, thereby not distracting, but rather supporting the tree.

So using the second image as base:

We increase the brightness of the tree:

Other possible strategies will be the use of sharpness, blur or color, to introduce imbalance among the various elements.

Indeed! This strategy is a very good alternative to what we have also suggested. Great picture. Great reply.

Thanks,
