Sunrise in Guadalajara

I was in Mexico in November and we took a side trip to Gudalajara to see some people we know. My friend Raul told me we should go see the sunrise at this location he knows about, so we got up at 6 and headed out. We were delayed and missed the actual moment of sunrise, but it was still quite breathtaking - a huge canyon along the edge of Guadalajara with multiple hillsides. This is one of the shots I got that morning.

I had a similar reaction to Jiminy, I looked at it and thought for a second it was painted because it seams to have perfect conditions (like all paintings seam to).

My eye is drawn more to the dark tree than the sun rise, but it's that multi layer effect that gives the photo character.
