Kunal, the effect is looking nice, but I personally feel insect macro should show every detail of the insect sharply. It should make people realise that it is the same insect we see everyday but dont quite get to see what is shown in picture......just my thoughts.

Regards,
Aakash

Hi Kunal,

Can we see the original shot please? With all these effects, it does not look like a Macro shot.

kunaldaswani,

The painter genes in me like the effect and colors, looks as if the bee is flying. This would be a winner in the post processing thread, where those effects would be appreciated.

Would love to know more details on how you created this effect. It reminds me more of a painting than a macro. Love the bright colors

It is definitely more of a post-processing image than a macro shot; an example of how picking a title sets up expectations. In this case, I would suggest that it falls short but, with a different name, you do have a memorable image (although it might be good to have the darkest tones on the bee a bit blacker).

Hey Kunal, But thanx for posting anyway.....I learnt a new way to create kool effects :-)

My dad, who is a post processing addict, would have truly appreciated your work......I am more of old school guy.

The effect is very nice but it looks like you blew out the flowers just below the bee. Masking some of the post processing layer over the bee might emphasize the bee a bit further.

I'm thinking this should be in 'Before and After' and he should tell us how he did it.
