I have to say for not liking to take pictures of people this was probably my best one so far.

I know it could be better but thought I would get some feedback.

Taken with Kodak EasyShare Z650

The style of framing the shot placed emphasis on the facial features of the subject. I guess the outcome of this shot should encourage you to like shooting people more. It is not stunning but certainly is very nice and did justice to the subject.

Looks pretty good to me! Just a couple of thoughts I have when I look at this picture. Her pupils are contracted alot & there is no shadow of the nose, so that leads me to believe you had some sort of lighting set up. If that assumption is correct, you should of toned down the light a touch by diffusing it. That way her face would have a soft warm glow to it. If that assumption is incorrect, well..... then never mind!

the lighting gives no detail or tone in the face, very washed out. maybe up contrast/staturation/and use a warming filter? maybe...otherwise, very nice look, very nice angle and croping. good times, theres potential.

PCYarrow,

Using the suggestions above, you may get something like this:

KimX

And if you can't reshoot, a little edit work. The overall color could be less blue, up to you.

Thank you. This was taken during the summer on my back deck. Spur of the moment photo.

I really like what has been done to it much softer.

Tutorials on Portraiture can give advice on how your photos could come from your camera like this or however you want them. Your original was one way to see Kim, this is another. Have fun finding all the other ways! (And for quick shots you want to fix, tutorials on Post-processing are here, too.)
