Default First Smoke Attempt

Hi all,

This is from my first smoke session, I'm trying to get some good shots to give to family for Christmas - can you please give me some comments or suggestions to help?

If you look further into the gallery there are a couple that have unclean backgrounds - I'm working on cleaning those up (the computer that has Photoshop apparently isn't calibrated well and I couldn't see those smudges on it).

I think it looks great I love the color and cropping in the image. Just wondering what did the uncropped version look like?

i think the whole group is nice....although like Murtasma said I prefer the smoke shots that are uncropped and the full plume of smoke. not taking anything away from this one however.

Thanks! I'll go back and take a look at the un-cropped versions, see what they look like... I can't remember but I may have cropped to minimize the necessary background cleanup.

It seems a little bit odd having such a long plume but then using a widescreen crop and losing so much where the "action" is but the colour is lovely and it could grow on me. How about trying it rotated 90 degrees with the curl at the top?

STOP TAKING SUCH GREAT PICTURES, ALL OF YOU! You're giving me a complex!

LOL!

Crop this one to 1600x1200 aspect so I can put on my desktop as wallpaper.
