took this on a hike. i like the contrast in it but the background seems too busy to me. what do you guys think?

Dead tree what dead tree??? It is very hard to see any dead tree in this photo. The combination of the very busy background and the b&w photo make it difficult to tell where the dead tree is even tho it is smack in the middle of the frame.

it is too busy. The background is too bright and your focal point (dead tree) is more of a sillouette so you cant tell what it is.

Fairly easy to fix the background (Threshold mask and blur) but I'm not sure what to do with the foreground.
