The lines are very interesting, but my inner voice keeps saying, "What IS it?" It makes me think of the many times I've been given advice along the lines of - each photo should tell a story or evoke some sort of emotion. I'm not sure what this subject is supposed to be saying to me (but that might just be because I can't figure out what it is!)

I would guess that it is some sort of artsy abstract, but I'm not sure that's what you were going for.

Hmmm...maybe because I live in L.A. and recognize this as a palm tree of some kind, I like this shot. I like your unique perspective on the plant and the lines and patterns of the leaves. You might want to crop some off the bottom, since the trunk is less interesting than the leaves. There seems to be part of a building peeking out from behind the leaves--this is a bit distracting, though may not have been avoidable. These are small things though--I think you did a nice job.

Thanks for the comments.
Unfortunately the palm tree was in a conservatory... thus the glass roof supports showing above. I think I'll try cropping the trunk as suggested, and maybe try to shop out the beams.
Thanks again!

i agree that a wee bit tighter of a crop will go a long way.....and while you're in your editing program, try lightening the shadows of the trunk a bit....because to me a palm's trunk is more than half it's glory....

thanks
