Hi all,
I took this photo of my youngest son. I think I broke the rules by not making his face the focus of the shot, but I wanted to capture the "tired after playing all day" feeling that was very true at the time. Let me know your thoughts...

I like the idea, but this strikes me as a picture of the toys, not the child. Focusing on the child, even through the toys might have helped you get the effect you were after.

How about placing a toy in the hands of the baby when it's sleeping to convey the thought that this baby was using this toy and just feel asleep with it something along those lines.

With this one, it's all about what the viewer sees as the focus.
If I'm looking at it and thinking I should be seeing the baby, I'll admit that there's some major problems. The focus on the ring just doesn't work, and neither does the placement. It's not that it blocks too much of the baby's face, it's which part of the baby's face it blocks. As a picture of the toys, it's pretty good. It has a nice background that helps to tell the story.
