vandcooler,

The 'Rules' for this Critique Forum

Which one would you want critique on?

Nice, balanced composition with some vibrant color. Appears a bit underexposed and while the colors create tonal separation, I suspect the lighting is a bit on the 'flat' side. How was this illuminated for the shot? Can you share how this was shot (lens, aperture, ISO, lighting)?

vandcooler,

This is a good one. As you practice, you may find that after a while, the black background is less inviting than a slightly colored one will be. Often it's just where you view the subject from, and using a slightly larger apeture. Or go low and get all blue sky behind. You are doing well so far.

It always freaks me out when people critique things like this. I think this is a just perfect. Stunning. Can't believe it is your first attempt at macro!

Makes me scared to post ANY of my photos! Maybe that's why I don't! :-)

Good job!

sgrbear724,

You can only grow through Critique. If your photo is not seen, it can't be appreciated, either. You are probably better than you realize. But it does involve risk.
