Default Lomo Affect

I tried the lomo affect on a flower photo, very easy to do. The tutorial is well done, I would recommend it to everyone. What do you guys think, is this one too much? I think that I have to clone out the flowers in the background

Well I think its a bit too much making really just a vignette. The lomo effect seems to be more subtle effect from the camera. I have seen them both ways and the ones that are more subtle seem to look more authentic.....
Still a good job I would just back off a touch around the edges....

Its hard to tell with your pics being so small. But i think with a different angle on your flowers might make a lot of difference

Default Thanks

Thanks for the critique. Your right, I should either lower the opacity or use a subject with a less dark background, and having a subject that fills the frame would probably help a lot.

Thanks again.

matt have you went to Flickr and looked at the lomo group there.....
there are a couple but they really give you an idea of the look.
Remember the S-curve adjustment...pretty characteristic of lomo shots give sort of a cross processed look to the shots...

I don't know that this photo is a good candidate to apply the effect on. It's a very nice effect -- I love it myself -- but it seems to be more suited to photos with more contrast. Even the subject matter almost doesn't fit. Maybe I'm taking the Lomography culture too seriously here!
