Default Dawn of a New World

I finally got my Chrome Ball Bearing...2" diameter and am starting to play around with it...wont get much out of it until l I get my SB-600 but all the same...still fun trying to create new things with it....
I just took this with a shallow DOF and blocking some of the flash from going to far back with a piece of white posterboard....
what do you think....

Great title. l love the sunburst effect on the ball bearing. Not sure what the gold/yellow squiggle is on the left edge of the bearing is though, It's kind of distracting.

Wow! It almost looks like I'm looking into starry sky through the sphere. The lamp, if blurred a bit, could look like a nebula. I love the way what looks like a fuzzy blanket seems like a lunar landscape in the ball.

I think this subject has a lot of opportunity for creativity.

What about cropping out everything but a close up of the sphere. Doing so kind of reminds me of the Earth Rise photo taken from the moon.

funny you should say that...i just got done looking for a great picture of the earth...a map that is that I can hold in front of it and have the reflection show in the ball bearing.
I got a bunch of ideas just need to execute them with a bit more preparation.
thanks for looking!

xxpinballxx, I love this shot! It almost looks like an alien eyeball. what is the distance from the bearing to your lens? My set-up is limited to 2 feet and beyond.
