Hey I am new to this forum thought id just show this picture i took a while ago of my pup frosty =] i am semi new to photography and am now trying to get more involved in it since i only took 1year at a tech school but that was 2 years ago (i had forgotten most of it =[) so I hope to learn more soon and will post more =] thanks

A couple of thigns to remember. Sometimes less is more. I think if you had less of Frosty's body and focused more on his wonderful face it might make this pic more effective.
Watch your where your lighting falls. It can make for unwanted shadows.

Frosty is a very cute pup! I think you captured what Frosty looks like but now it is time to express 'who' Frosty is.
If I may suggest a few pointers: Get down to their eye level Lowering the camera to their eye level can often reveal their perspective of the world, inviting the viewers into the subject's world. Try different angles Holding the camera diagonally can add a sense of motion to the picture. If Frosty is a playful pup, this could yield a very nice picture. Exposure I'm not sure which camera you used, but try adjusting the settings to the condition in which you are shooting. This will help you with exposing the frame properly so that the subject is lit the way you want them to. Don't be shy to use the P mode and Auto. Welcome to DPS! Cheers for rediscovering photography!
