i took this about a week ago. I did crop it down as i wanted the emphasis to be on the tiny hand gripping her mothers finger

This is a beautiful shot - the close crop and monochrome work very well. The framing is a bit much for me. I think this would stand well on its own.

This is a very popular subject and your B&W presentation looks very nice. Did you do some post processing? What are those faint halo lines on the top left of the fingers? Did you blur the photograph?

Ohh you are right about the halo. i didnt notice it at all. I was trying to create a softer focus and didnt pay attention to the halo.
Babies hands are not the smoothest when they are about a week old so i was trying to make them look so.
