it is a very sharp image for the d40 and kit lens....I have the same camera and have not yet gotten a shot so sharp. Good Job! Did you do anything other than cropping? Any sharpening in post at all....doesn't look like it but the eyelashes are just so crisp its hard believe....especially the ones over to the left.....

Two things I think that could be improved in this photo.
1. Pay attention a little more to to the depth of field and focus of the image. If you look just above the eye the skin is nice and sharp however the depth of field falls off before it reachs the eye. Try stopping your lens down a little throw more light on the subject if the shutter speed is not fast enough. 2. Her contact lens was not perfectly centered you can see her natural brown iris around the edge of the contact lens. You can use some cloneing to remove that. Also at the right side of the contact lens you can see where it ends there is a blushing tint a little color correction in that area could help. I've always wanted to try out those type of contact lens myself does she have any others?

Yeah i noticed everything you said in #2 before but shes not around all the time so i couldent get another. Wih number 1 i sort of see what your saying there.
I think she only has that pair, but i could be wrong. Thanks. |
