Default Thaipusam Photoessay: Concentration

Thaipusam Photoessay: Concentration

Description:
A devotee was photographically-captured praying in his ritual cleansing exercise. Thaipusam is celebrated all around the world where Lord Murugan was born in the month of Thai.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Thaipusam (Tamil: தைப்பூசம்) is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (Jan/Feb). Pusam refers to a star that is at its highest point during the festival. The festival commemorates both the birthday of Lord Murugan (also Subramaniam), the youngest son of Shiva and Parvati, and the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel (lance) so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman

Viewed your photo essay. I like this one most (concentration) plus through the cheek and through the tongue.
I admire your style of capturing images.

I really liked the Photoessay. I usually like Pics with bright & vibrant colors, which you do have. But I really liked the one titled, "Praying". It truly sets the tone or maybe Mood would be a better word, for the entire Essay. Your using the same camera that I use. Nikon D70s. So looking at your pics makes me really envious. Keep up the good work & I'll strive to reach your quality of work.
