Question 1st try at this, please critique !!!!

Frankie

Hi
My 1st go a desaturating the colours from a picture apart from a couple of areas.

I then boosted the colour in the eyes to exaggerate them

Think I possibly went a bit overboard but in a strange way I like it

Open to comments and criticism please

It's a good picture and a good idea but I think less color is more.

Yeah, for me the eyes have an unnatural look, but you may not have been going for that.

now this is one cute kid.....i remember painted black and whites from when i was young and i have always loved them.....her eyes are a little over done though....but, one of the beauties of this new age of photography is that you can easily go back and re-edit them.....

thanks for sharing...

The key to this style image is to have the colors subtle. I would drop the blue in the eyes, and keep the heart.

The shot is well composed, and looks great.

Frankie1

Hi thanks for the advice

I have now reverted the eyes back to normal and boosted them a touch with a bit of contrast to try and bring them out a little.

I have also brushed out the dribble on the chin and a few food spots left on her lips !!

Is this better ?

B&W needs a bit more contrast I think

Hi

Thanks for the replies

Nathan deGargoyle, thanks for the modified picture, I'm not too sure about this look though at it looks very dark and her eyes have lost the brightness, but prehaps this is how these sort of pictures are supposed to look!

I dont know I'm new to this so just experimenting

Cheers

I didn't like the first post. The eyes looked a little unatural to me. I love the second post. The little bit of color on the hat is perfect and she is a cutie. Good work.
