Default Child Portrait

Portrait of a younger cousin of mine. I know that it has a sort of yellow tint, buggered it up in Ps, but other than that critique away.

I think its a good job all in all. The tinting gives it a cross processed sort of look. Not sure about the top of the head being chopped but you did a good job of eliminating the uneccessary background. I might have pulled back just a bit to get the whole ear and the top of the head....

I feel this one can be improved with some careful cropping. Start with the right side and don't be afraid of cropping into the head slightly to see the impact. Then crop the left side even to the point of losing the right ear. Generally speaking it is OK to crop part of the top of the head but not so for the chin. Glad you left the whole chin intact. Nice modified 'loop' portrait style lighting with catchlights.

you inadvertantly cross processed it, which is for the better. it's a good shot. there's nothing really wrong with it. someone may tear into it for cutting off the head, but tight face crops are sorta... vogue now.

I love the color of his eyes. What about B&W all but his eyes?

nice shot of your cousin......and i agree that the tinting really adds a certain something....i think the best part of this image is his eye in the left part of the frame....it draws me in....

thanks for sharing....

I can't decide if the hinge (or whatever it is) on the lower right is distracting or if it adds to the shot. My eye is drawn to it, so it is detracting from your subject. Maybe you could crop/clone it out. Just something to look at.
