Default Child Labor - Critique my picture

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2058/...d86bb6c0_o.jpg

Note :-

Very hard to say about him, He is Suresh, working as a helper in road side Mechanic shop which is situated in "Pudhupettai" chennai's biggest Motor cycle repairing lane , which contains of 500 mechanic shops around the lane. you can find so many Suresh's here. working for 50 to 75 rupees (one dollar) a day and he will get a lunch and 3 times tea or coffee while shopkeeper is having.Parents of these kids might be working anywhere else and doesn't care about this flower bud's education.

At most times, Mothers should depends upon these kids daily wages where is father most times in "busy in boosting". there will be a one tragedy story behind all these kids.

When ever time permits or their owners are not around these kids will go for park to watching kids playing around, Normally these kids will not go inside because his shop owner might come anytime, if he caught him his daily wages will be cut for the day.

When he stare at playing kids from outside grill of the park , I captured him from inside. For me he looks like in prison and he his... when this small buds will have a chance to get freedom and joy ?? Please Stop Child Labor.

This shot brings out the deprivement of children in the third world, as a photograph the expression of the eyes is very well captured. There are very strong debates in the Indian Media about child labour and the yardstick to follow. I feel, a child should not be deprived of education and proper upbringing, but, at the same time there are millions of families in India and other parts of the world, sheer poverty forces the parents to send their children to earn. So keeping that in mind, the society should react in a balanced way. May be his Suresh's 50 rupees is necessary for his survival, we do not know. This photograph is very thought provoking, thanks for posting.

Excellent photo...love the color and contrast from background to the subject.
Nice composition...the fence or bars he is behind really tell the story.....I prefer not to get into the politics of this but of course have my own feelings on the situation.
Great photo PCP!

dont take it to heart....sometimes people only critique if they find a different opinion or have a suggestion...plus i think some dont like navigating away to see the photo.

not to mention the boards have been slow the last couple days it seems....

I don't think there is much to critique on the photo. I was very drawn in with him and his half/sad almost smiling face. the eyes have a complex light reflections that actually adds substantially to the photo since it draws that he is looking beyond the camera.

Awful of how many children are exploited. what have we learnt as a society?
