I took this shot on a recent trip to California. Critiques please.

If you wanted to put the focus on the house boats you need to try to get the other distractions out of the frame. Perhaps walking out onto that pier that is sticking out from the right side of the frame and has some annoying black poles with white tops on it would have been better than photographing it. It would also get you closer to the houseboats which would then fill the frame better.
