I like the pattern formed by the splashing water in the middle as it fans out. However, the picture as a whole is rather dark and cluttered.
I wonder if it would be improved either with more background, setting the context of the falls, or zooming in to make more of the fanning water as the subject? Wulf |

I agree with wulf. Plus, that dark rock in the foreground is a little bit distracting.

Basically the same thing that wulf said.. If you were wanting to portray the force of the waterfall wouldn't it be better to zoom out some and see the grandness of the falls or to get in closer to see the water pounding in to the rocks?

I think the portrait-orientated close-up works really well and results in a much more exciting picture - it makes much more of the vertical energy of the water. You still have a small patch of foreground rock but that now serves as a dramatic contrast.
I am not so keen on the wider shot although that is partly due to the contrast with the other, which is great. Wulf |
