Gorgeous setting. I love the reflections and the colours and everything. Were you using a lens hood when you took this? The reason I ask is because that could potentially cut out the glare depending on where the sun was coming from.

Hi Nicole,
Thank you for viewing my picture, I was using a lens hood, the sun was shining from just outside the top right of the image, I took a couple of shots from around the same spot but I kept getting glare. I think this one turned out better than the rest. Again, Thank You.

I think it is a scene calling out for either a Graduated Neutral Density filter (so that less light gets through from the sky than the land) or for a couple of different exposures blended together.
If you could get the clouds in the sky a bit nearer the tones of the reflected clouds in the water, that would be ideal. Wulf |

this is a stunning image....one that made me make an audible sound to my husband not four feet away....
my only critique would possibly be referring to what nicole noted as that the sky and reflection on the left side of the frame aren't matching what's going on with the right... beautiful image though... peeper |

Amazing shot! I kind of did a double take when I saw this. Did you do any post processing on this, just out of curiosity? I think the critiques have been said (clouds in upper right have the glare you mentioned, light blue sky on left side is too different from the rest of the sky) If you have photoshop, you could use the lasso and select the clouds in the upper right, then increase the contrast a bit and this might get rid of any uniformity there, but use it sparingly. Amazing photo though, great job.

Ok you got me,
On the right hand side I had a very large area of over exposed white sun. (while taking the shot I couldn't achieve a good balance between sky and land, either one would end up over or under exposed) All I could think of doing was cloning the blue and clouds from the left. It didn't turn out too bad and it was my first time to do cloning. I wasn't brave enough to do the reflection, (YET). Thank you once again for your kind words.

Hi there Seaton519,
I used the shadows/highlight tool and some cloning in PS which I'm very new to, thanks for tip on lasso, I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thank You.

I love it!!!
I actually didn't notice the lens flare until you mentioned it. The first thing I noticed was that the clouds are a little bit washed out. Sometimes when I get the lens flare even though I'm using a hood, I will cup my left hand around the lens making like an "extra hood" to block out the extra light.
