You picked a tough subject for your assignment because of the extreme range of contrast. Sometimes these will look better in glossy print form than on a monitor. Additionally, the composition of tree branches reminds me of the man who got on his horse and rode off in "all" directions. My eye has nowhere to land in the frame. What did your instructor say about it?

I love it!
I like the contrasts, and i think you did a great job catching them. I'm imagining a series of these hanging on a wall some where. I like that they have nothing to tell, other than it's very beautiful, which - i think - will make these great for wallhangers

I like the contrast although some spaces between the branches do get blown out (over exposed). In a photo like this with a lot going on in directions it might be worthwhile to walk around it to find if there is a way to get the branches to frame or align with something else in the background or else to just get the horizon and keep the composition of the tree shape. It is a difficult picture. I have some like that in my folders.

CWind, Welcome
The tree is OK, it just sits very close to the edge. This link can help illustrate the compositional placement more suited to this sort of shot: http://digital-photography-school.co...ule-of-thirds/
