WOW. A day of Firsts! The first snow here. My first shoot with my first DSLR! I would really appreciate some feedback on this shot, as I really want to improve. OK, to settings - Iso 200, at 70mm, aperture priority at lowest of 4.5, shutter set to 1/200. I *think* it even managed to gt a touch of bokeh in the shot. Not perfect, but really want to know what you think...

As far a composition goes, i am not really sure what was your main object of focus...the image looks a bit crowded upfront.
I love the dof u have managed.. but was there any particular reason to shoot at iso200?? The snowy highlights look overexposed ..also was it windy out there when u shot...as i can see some shake blur in bottom right of pic.

Yeah, I see what you mean about blown out highlights. Here's the photo, zeroed, and then with an exposure of -.5, some fill light to brighten the BG, and some vibrance added. For some reason when I loaded the photos into lightroom it automatically set a brightness level higher than zero. Odd... Anyways, is this a bit better? It is the edited by uncropped version. I cropped to remove the pieces on the top. Also, if I had more time for comp.... as it was, I stopped at the side of the road on my way to work, and really only had a moment...
