Question Burning Battle

Battle High Street on Fire!!

This was taken at a recent bonfire event.

Didn’t know really how to shoot it as it was dark with very bright flares

Quite pleased with the shot as it shows it as it was but feel it is missing something

Any advice welcome please

Thanks

Interesting shot. I agree with you that it is missing something as there is no focal point to draw my attention. The two torches compete leaving my eye to wander about looking for the subject.

It is tough to find something to focus on...but I like the picture. Looks like you managed to get above the crowd a bit to get a good view. Is the striped suit in the middle with the sign someone important?

Default Nice!

I like this shot! I do agree that it is missing a specific focus, but as far a shot to provide a background, or set a scene, it is great! The contrast between the red and black make a strong statement. I find my eye wandering to the centre of the scene (between the 2 torches) as well as trying to follow the people off to the right.

This seems perfect for a photoshop job, with some demoic character in the middle, hidden behind the smoke! Maybe just some giant red eyes would do!!!

I think your exposure is spot-on too!
