OK, I know, it looks like all those other overdone HDR shots but for my first time I think it should look like HDR, IYKWIM?
![]() Like an illustration from a Ladybird book (for those old enough to remember what that looks like).

Hello,
I think you may tune your settings so as to avoid the halo around the horse, and the oversaturrated colors. I don't think a shot should "look" HDR, and oppositely should not look anything than a "dont know how nor why but this is a very good shot". You worked from a RAW which is already a good step taken. A RAW is 12 or 14bits, only, which gives you what I call ADR (Average Dynamic Range) image. You would want to try and bracket exposure (for example -2EL 0EL +2EL, from which you can extract -4EL, -2EL, 0EL, +2EL, +4EL). You will have much more matter to work from. However I must admit it's not easy with moving people in the frame. Was the lighting situation worth HDR? Were there a high dynamic between highlight and shadows? Be well

Nicely done! But where does the white glow around the horse and the man to the right came from?
By the way creating pseudo hdr from one single raw file is great. It can also be done with one single jpeg file in Lightroom by making two virtual copies and adjusting the exposure by +-1 stop in library module.

i totally love hdr, and on some pictures i do like the artsy over the top style. i cant say your picture suits it. tweeking it down till the glow has gone might suit this picture better.

Thanks for the comments guys, I agree that it's overdone and about the glow.
@Olivier: What I meant about it looking like HDR is that, the first time you do it you want to see those OTT effects. After that you can start being subtle.
