Please keep pictures under 600px on the longest side (you can read the forum rules here)

Not a bad fireworks shot at all. I'm hopefully heading out to some fireworks tonight. Did you use a tripod with this shot? The bottom seems a little blurry, but maybe if you cropped that out, it might make a big difference making everything look a little sharper Nice set that you have on Flickr. I really like this one.

Can you share you settings for shooting this shot? From your comment, I assume this was hand-held. Not a bad shot for someone new to their dSLR. Keep at it!

Default Settings

ClockDoc, settings for the above shot : Shutter Speed : Bulb, Aperture: F8 or F11 , Iso : 100, Used manual Mode.

A good source to start would be http://digital-photography-school.co...aph-fireworks/

Nicole, Sorry for the pic being on the longer side, would take care in future.
And yes all the shots were handheld, would keep an eye on your postings for your fireworks captures.

No worries Suhail I can't believe how clear you got it with at exposure being handheld! Either I need to cut out the caffeine or... well, the first one's not happening anyways so I'll just stick with the tripod

Fireworks are about 7 hours away... got the camera charging, the memory cards empty, and the remote and tripod all packed. The skies are clearing up, now I just have to scope out the spot I want this year
