Default Sunset good or bad

Bexhill sunset (Rubbish Bin removed)

This is my attempt at a sunset. I have lightened the foreground , removed a waste bin from behind the seat and bought out the red in the sun set.But to me the buildings look grey and grainy or is it me?

All constructive comments would be appreciated.

What I would have done (or, to be more honest, what I would have wished I'd done when I had done the same as you) is shoot it twice, first exposed for the sky and second exposed for the foreground. Then merge the two in GIMP (or P$ if you must).

Ain't hindsight wonderful! I have a hard drive full of shots I wish I'd done that way!

I think its a great job of making the hsot more dynamic.
my only thing is I would like to have seen a better foreground or even if you were just over a few feet to the right and had taken the shot looking down the road.
I can appreciate the work you've done on the shot. I think you have done well.
The buildings do look a bit grainy maybe zoom in on those and smooth them a bit but i think they are such a small part of the photo that its not neccesary.
