I would try cropping just a little off the top. The whole scene looks a little drab but that's becuase it looks like it was a very overcast day. Have you tried coverting this to black and white and just showing the red I think that would make the image pop a little more.

Welcome.
I agree, the red is pretty eye-catching and you've got a great subject. Compositionally, it seems like there are two things vying for attention, the rickshaws and the buildings/lamps with the vanishing point. I wonder if it would have been stronger to take a couple steps left and just focus on the rickshaws lined up against the wall, possibly with their own vanishing point. (And in another shot, focused on the buildings and lamps on the left.) Exposure wise, this is a tough situation. For this shot, I'd do some post-processing, trying bring out the details a bit better. You might try playing around with the "levels" or "curves" adjustments in your photo manipulation software. Two possible things to try next time you have this situation: 1) Turn on the flash. This will help light up the dark parts of the foreground and help balance it with the bright sky. 2) Some cameras have different metering modes. Check your manual to see if it has something like "point" or "centered" metering. Changing to this mode will allow you to expose correctly for the dark area at the expense of overexposing the bright area (or vice versa if your so inclined). Hope this helps and keep shooting. |
