Default Headless In The Subway



Took this in an NYC subway earlier this year. Minor postprocessing, just a bit of color adjustment.

if it were me, i would have gotten a little more of the upper part of the shoulders and neck in the shot. still, a cool idea.

I thought about it, but a) I was tought to never cut off directly at apendages, and b) I just liked this composition better. Thanks though.

The clutter int he foreground, right at the bottom is a bit distracting. I like the photo though.

It is an interesting idea but the figure looks almost stuck on. I think that is because he is standing on a bright surface without much shadow to show how he connects to the platform (and the out of focus stuff in the foreground probably doesn't help with that, drawing attention away from what little shadow there is).

BTW, I notice that the camera was not quite level. Obviously there is some wide angle distortion, which makes judging it tricky, but the right hand end of the platform is higher than the left. For a shot like this, artfully contrived, it might be best to get the background level and symmetrical.
