I'll take the first step. Also living in flat country also taking "landscape pictures" is always seems second cousin to those beautiful ones of mountains and hills.
I like most the different colors of green in your photo and the background fading into the morning fog. The line of the rows draws you into the background. I would crop closer to the rows but leave some of the horizontal grass in front. At first I thought the horizon was crooked but the field horizon is flat so this is okay. Good job. Keep on shooting.

Try shooting at a different time of day. The lighting in this picture is very dull and the colors seem a bit muted. Also the sky if very uninteresting. If you are going to reshoot try to get down into the field and get a low perspective as the rows of dirt/grass would look even better up close. Also go back around sunrise or sunset to get some better color in the sky.

in my book there's no such thing as "just a landscape shot".....landscapes are tough for me because i tend to see the whole picture and not what fits in the frame.....
i like the colors.....i like the depth of field......and i especially like what you "saw" in the frame.....my only suggestion is to crop with a little more attention to leveling the horizontals..... thanks peeper |
