Default Rusted Pipe

First of all, I really feel that this smaller version does not do the shot justice. If you'd like to view a larger version, you can here. This shot was taken at the Palisades Cliffs, in New Jersey. Only post-processing done was resizing and a slight color adjustment.

P.S. This is my first post here, been lurking for a while. Everyone seems real nice so I figured I'd join.

Hi, brett! Welcome in the forum. I like the perspective and the DOF of your shoot.

hi brett! thanks for the post. good shot, i feel like the blues/greens and light in the background add a lot to the overall effect. i like the angle on the pipe and the DOF as well. the one thing that sticks out to me is the rock (i think it's a rock?) in the middle of the picture behind the pipe. i think it helps breaks up the background, but i would like to see it off to the right a little more so that the 2 rocks are sort of framing the pipe but you get some sky in between, or maybe just leave that middle rock out entirely. i know when you're shooting in nature you don't always have the luxury of moving things around, and it would be a trade-off if you had to change the angle on the pipe. just my 2cents, hope it was helpful. thanks for the post!

Thanks for the critique, case. I really didn't even realize the rocks in the background were distracting until you pointed it out. Now that I see it, I wish I had framed the pipe in between the rocks, like you said.
