Default Shame

Hi everyone,

I took a lot of photographs for a school project but they don't quite work out for the project (you can check my flickr page for the whole set) but anyway here is one particular shot I really like and I really would appreciate any comments you have. Thanks!

She never came back...

I really like this. The expression, the lighting, and the B&W all add to a particular mood which is very emotional.

If I were to do it again, I would find a way to focus more on the face. That's where my eye is drawn, and I wish it were more prominent. Maybe move closer to the window and zoom in? Cropping might improve it some, but I think it would be a mistake to give up showing the light source. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with you I should highlight the face a little more (maybe I can burn it a bit) I'll give a try at photoshop and if it works I'll post an identical thread with the new pic. I did actually crop it but wasn't the same shot, something was missing. There a bunch in my flickr page (a medium shot of this scene and a full shot) if you'd like to see them from this set. Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it, Newbie!

I too like the mood of this shot. But what bothers me about it is that strip of black space on the right side of the frame. (I am assuming that you were standing a hallway right at the entrance to the room and that black strip is a wall) anyways I think the image would be better if you were to crop that part out. and maybe clone out or just crop out the little bit of the coffee table on the right as well.

Yeah that bothers me too but I try cropping it and the shot loses something. So I am kind of stuck on what to but thanks for the comments!! I am Mexican I don't know if you are Mexican also but anyways ¡Viva Mexico!

I vote to crop, I would leave just a sliver of the window to show where the light was coming from. And this would eliminate the harsh light from the window. Either way it's a nice shot.
