Exclamation 7 Shot Panoramic Storm Cloud

The Storm

This was a pain to work on my computer had a really hard time working with a Panoramic image this large. Click on the image to see a larger view of it. The medium thumbnail does not do it justice.

This was all handheld no hdr was used very little photoshop work. I just cloned a tree out of the sky I did an ok job I could do much better but it was late and I was pressed for time.

The storm cloud really looked like this or I woudln't have even bothered taking a picture outside my window. It was crazy it was moving really with thunder and lightning everywhere. Luckly it was not raining at my house yet but as soon as I finished it started poor or I would have taken some shots of the lightning.

I really like the way you captrured the clouds but am not fond of the roof and the other darl spot in the other corner that intrudes into the picture. I do also think you might include just a little bit more of the ground beneath it, rule of thirds.
It looks like you used an hdr effect, is that correct?

No HDR was not used in the image. If I included more of the ground the image would be worse. The shutter speed I was using was very fast I also had to have my iso cranked way up because the clouds where really fast I had to stop them in their tracks or stiching would have came out horrible not to mention the movement in the clouds lots of detail would have been lost. With thes shutter speeds I was shooting at the ground was way underexposed by about 4 stops of light. The sky was pertty bright in relation to the groun not to mention to get all the sky in I an have some of the ground I woud have had to take 14 pictures and stich them together just to get an under exposed forground. HDR would have been the only way to represent this scene but it would have been impossible due to the movement of the clouds.

Thank you,
When I was working on cropping the image I tried to crop the edges out but it just lacked the impact and perspective distortion that I liked in the sky. I then thought about cloning it out but I'm not good enough to clone something that large out of an image. I probably should have gotten a chair and gotten on the roof of the apartment and taken the pictures now that I think of it.

I hope you didnt mind me playing with it, but I gave it a shot at cloning out the roof tops. Mind you I am not the greatest at it either
