First thing I would do it to straighten the horizon and crop a but off the back end of the picure behind the plane. Raising the stauration levels might also give it more color. But I am no expert on post processing tho.

I agree with windrider86 regarding the horizon and cropping.
I think the shutter speed is to fast, there is no sense of movement. If it weren't for the puff of blue smoke it could just be a plane standing idle on a runway. Did you try panning with the plane to blur the background ?

It would be really neat to try a Pan next time on the image. That would create the sense of movement. If you didn't mention it was landing I would have thought it was taxing on the runway.
Also a polizer or UV filter will help cut through the haze some. There seems to be a small yellow cast on the image too but that is probably just my monitor here.
