This is one of the first panning shots i got in CA. there was nothing at all done to this...straight out of the camera....I don't think i could have cropped it more in the center if I tried.....or gotten the bird at a more symmetrical angle....

Wow, nice panning! This is a beautiful bird and I like the highlights around the edge of the wings. I also like the rich blue of the background, but it's a bit noisy (from how the small image appears). Get rid of the noise to "smooth" the background and this will really shine.

Crazy it's like almost perfect that's really good for panning. How many tries did it take to get that down LOL. Did you ask the bird to fly over again

By the end of the day at the beach my wife was calling me the bird man of santa cruz!
I was trying to catch them all day long...we even sat outside at the restaurant so I could continue to shoot. I agree its a bit noisy and this shot was done on auto just so I could concentrate on the panning and trying to get the shot. Im just glad i finally got a decent panning shot! I have tried catching a bird in frame for along long time..... What you cant see is the string tied to its feet and attached to the pole that just out of frame. It kept flying in circles for hours until I got a decent shot then I set it free.... Just kidding... *******************DISCLAIMER******************** No animals were harmed in the taking of this shot!
