Picture postcard ?

Colors are a little muted since it was so overcast, but I like it anyway - do you?

Nice muted colors. Lots of water and sky. I think it needs a subject other than the tree. The location has great potential.

Really a beautiful tranquil spot. Perhaps if you cropped off some of the left side and some water at the bottom, it would make the tree more prominent and it would add a little weight to the image.

It is different---but the colors in your first one were good as well. It was just the mass of water and sky as well as no subject (other than the tree) that I was commenting on.

the first picture is better than the second one. And i like the general view of the picture. It speaks of quietness.

i like the colors in the first image as well.....but, i know you want more color...

Hopefully this is an area you can visit every once in awhile. It is a nice location and does have some focus points and postcard qualities, but in this photograph is somewhat bland even with the color changes. An early morning or evening, a winter shot or when the tree has some color or early spring leaves all might be fun shots here. One of the photography books I looked at mentioned finding an outdoor spot and rephotographing over the course of a full year to ehlp see the changes in light at different times of the day and year. I like that idea.

I like the second image better because the colors in the first one seem a bit sad to me. As they said above, it's a matter of taste
