Default Autumn Flame

A picture I took in the Blue Ridge Mountains this week. I like how it resembled a fire coming off the leaf.

Nice color and sharpness. Reminds me of fall in Michigan. Down here the leaves turn brown and fall off the trees. 8-(

I am always so envious of people who get to see the change of seasons. Our trees go from green to lighter green.
Oh yeah - love the deep reds of the leaf.

This year I will admit we have a few trees that look great here in michigan but for the most part they are brown and falling apart or already naked. I thought I would get a lot of nice fall shots I have yet to get one altho I really haven't tried becuase I can just tell nothing is worth taking a picture of at least about where I am.

Thanks, guys. It was a great day for photography up there. Very close to the peak weekend if not the peak weekend. The ridges looked like they were on fire in some areas and the polarizing filter was making the skies a deep, deep blue. I'll post some more later on.

I was just up there this weekend and Fall is on the way out isn't it? I found a few things here and there. We just moved and I miss Michigan like crazy. (We weren't too far from A2 either!)

That leaf is GORGEOUS! I love the colors and the background as well. Really sets it off.

Thank you. No, it was actually taken with my 18-135mm. I didn't use the 50mm at all that day. The leaf was one my mother found for me. She said she had been looking for "the perfect red leaf" for me to photograph. I held it at arms length in from of the camera and focused on it with one hand. The background colors are from a distant ridgeline. I took photos of the leaf in different positions. One of them is a nice backlit picture where you can see all of the little veins and structures in it.

Hope that explaination doesn't ruin the magic of the shot.
