Default Solitude 2

Hi again

Is this a better one? Taken from a different angle and I tried to soften the background - desatured a bit and burned a bit. What do you think?

Thank you,

I think the top and bottom framing was a bit tight. Maybe better with a bit more headroom?

I agree with Jassed. next time, unless you want this particular composition to be so, try to centralize your subject. Why not use the lights of an external flash light artistically bounced?
Me too i love shooting monuments. I'll soon upload my collection to Flickr.

I like the general positioning of the statue, which gives it some space to look into. Also, in this particular photo, I think the tight crop at the top and bottom works well. In fact, you could lose a little more at the bottom - the brightness of the plinth, visible under the knees, is a touch distracting.

I wonder if the darkening of the background is too drastic. You certainly want the light areas duller than the highlight on the statue, to avoid drawing attention, but they look too dull to me in this version. It makes the background look artificial because the bright highlights suggest the sun would have been brighter than that.
