I like the horizon, it gives your photo a bit of an edge. It does give me a bit of a sinking feeling though. You've done a good job on exposure. Flash fill I pressume?

By the way, you might want to switch to the medium sized image. The mods/admins prefer it if users keep their in post images smaller than 600px on the longest side.

Nice shot of Ms. Butter. However I see that you shot it at a fairly wide angle focal length (18mm). Shooting from farther away with a longer focal length coupled with a wider aperture to help soften the background may make for a stronger image.

Very nice shot, however, the lake seems to be leaning to the left a little.

Very nice detail

I dont mind the tilt of the lake so much. I agree with clockdoc that you should have blurred the background a little more. But I do like the sky in this shot so I am torn over the blurring of the background or not... What does bother me is that you did not take the leash off the dog before you took the shot.

Yep, edited the picture size to be in line with the forum rules.

I do like the angled horizon. I think that it's enough that you can tell that it's meant to look like that rather than just a bit of a mistake I don't mind that the background isn't blurred. In fact I kind of like it in this case. Of course, now that Rex mentioned the leash, now that really sicks out to me.

i like how the horizon gives it energy.....and even the sharpness of the background doesn't bother me.....it's a rule breaker that works for me......

Personally I really like the shot. Good portrait of a pet. Only thing that I would do is up the saturation in the blue to give the sky some more color, and it will also help the clouds pop a little more. Also I like the off access angle of the camera, and the low point of view to make the dog look larger.

Default Ms Butter 2

Thank you all for your comments

I gave some suggestions a try and I totally agree...
THE LEASH HAS GOT TO GO!....I had seen at some point and wish I had the moment
over again....thanks to Photoshop I do...
As for the blurred background...it gives it an ol' fashion kind of portrait feel...
so both blurred and unblurred work for me.
Making the clouds pop....I not sure how much would quickly turn this into a
cartoon-like sky.
and the lake draining....the trees on the right were closer to us and had I moved her to the right slightly, it would have been clearer
that the lake actually comes to a point directly behind her. I shot this photo from beneath her slightly, I hoped to some extent that maybe there was alittle
of an optical illusion here. Anyway here she is again

MsButter2

sorry about the size issue earlier Nicole.
