Interesting comment, I'll have to ponder that. Part of what I liked about the shot is that it was 1/3rd sand with leaves, 1/3rd water and 1/3rd trees.
Did you look at a larger version or just the small one posted here - I think it may look different when you see it larger.

sorry i deleated my post on you LOL , I liked the reflection so well i wanted to test my own comment & wanted to share it with you , I also upped the brightness & conteast ,a tad where the photo was small to work on . ( this was my origanal post
(This is a beautiful spot but I find the fore ground to be distracting from the over all beauty of your shot . I think if there were less of it , this would be a great photo try croping half of it off .

Looking at the two versions side by side I prefer Snapdragon's crop. I think it's because, with the way the texture of the foreground becomes smoother as it gets closer due to perspective, it almost looks like the shot is cut into quarters IYSWIM.
Great shot though and the reflections are superb!

Love the colors, we don't get colors like that her in So. Cal. I like snapdragons crop it seems more dramatic (to me anyway).

I agree with the crop that snapdragon did. I think there is too much sand in the foreground in the original.. In viewing the original file on your flickr site the photo seems soft to me. I am not sure where the focus point was on the camera but the trees look OOF and the sand is OOF as well. Perhaps using a higher ISO so that you can use a faster shutter speed would help freeze the image or also a smaller aperature to get a better DOF.

I like the photograph with beautiful colors. I think I would have taken it without the sand beach. Although it makes the rules of 1/3 I find the sand somewhat distracting. Maybe a crop with less of it would be better for my eye or opinion. .

I guess the jury has decided - I should loose some of the sand.
Thanks!
