Talking Bridge of Reflection

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here on the forums as well as to photography. Although, I am a long time fan of Darren because of ProBlogger.

Anyways, I would love to have one of my most recent photos critique.

Thanks!

PhotoGoat, Welcome

It takes something really grand or very simple to make a black-and-white better than color, being a huge fan of color myself. Either more sky or water reflection here might have given more of that grandness.

At this position, the Sun has left some trees too bright and the bridge with reflection too dark for detail (interest). The combination in the middle is jarring, almost as if another photo were overlaid there.

What would you have seen if you'd moved left to the other side of the bridge, sunlit, with more sky, bridge and reflection?

Hi and welcome to the group. Is this an infrared shot? If so, can you please provide the details of the shot? IMHO, this would have made a better photo if the bridge were not included and the scene taken from a different position. Perhaps it looks better in a larger version but this is all we have to go by.

Hi, PhotoGoat!

Welcome in the forum. Well, i like the effort you did put into taking your shoot. But i think, that if possible, try to take the same picture again in another time of the day when the sunlight is kind of equalize on the landscape.

Is it possible that the composition was originally in color? If yes, try playing a bit with your exposure, contrast and may be lowering the saturation just a little bit.

So said, i say once again WELCOME!
